A New Year for ASPCC

July 05, 2012

Hello and welcome to the 2012-2013 academic year of Pasadena City College. It’s only just sort of started in the Summer intersession, but ASPCC is already getting ready to go!  My name is Simon Fraser, and I am your Associated Students President for 2012-2013.

There are always many ways that you can get involved with your school, and summer is no exception.  We are accepting members for the Lobby Committee, Finance Committee and Publicity Committee!  Each of these provides a fantastic opportunity to help out other students by making sure we get students voting, informing students about the November Tax initiative that will provide our college with millions of dollars in additional funding, and help formulate our own budget for the upcoming year.

The benefit to you is that you get real world experience that will stand you in great stead when transferring or entering the job market, if you’re a club member you will get service hours for your participation, and the ability to say that you stood up and helped represent students – because Associated Students is the only group on campus that’s only purpose is to represent students – and we’re students too!

For more information on any of these, please contact:

Andrew Bott for Finance Committee – aspcc.abott@gmail.com
John Fraser for Lobby Committee – aspcc.jfraser@gmail.com
Peter Torres for Publicity Committee – aspcc.ptorres@gmail.com

I look forward to representing the students of PCC for 2012-2013, and we’ll see you soon!

Simon Fraser
