ASPCC has been working hard to ensure that bills of huge support to the students pass. We have an amazing lobby team who has been functioning tirelessly inside and out of legislative visits. They need you to help them fight for OUR cause. Get to know your legislators by providing us with your mailing information. Once a representative becomes available, we will email you back with the name of your representative. Send them messages of support or disapproval regarding different bills that greatly affect us.

ASPCC’s stand on the different bills is under the “bills acceptance” annex of our board packet. Click here to be redirected to the board packet page.

Currently, ASPCC is supporting AB1358 and is in objection to AB955.

Elections 2013 – Results

The Election results are out. Some familiar faces and some new set of officers will be taking office starting June first.

With one of the highest turn outs in the history of PCC voting, the new set of officers were named after two hard fought weeks of campaign. Students for Progress continues its legacy of service after winning all the contested positions in the poll.

Returning Executive Board/Supreme Council Officers:

Incumbent VP for Academic Affairs, Miranda Alavardo, won the elections for VP for Student Services

Current Vice President for Public Relations, Peter Torres, secured a spot as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Council – Elect.

ASPCC President Simon Fraser will be serving as the newly elected Student Trustee.

Not in Picture: John Fraser will be sitting as Academic Year 2013-2014 President after being the current VP for External Affairs for two years.

Irene Lee is the current Secretary for the Publicity Committee while David Zepeda is an active member of the Campus Activities Committee. Marisol Salcedo is an ICC representative while Alyssa Nunez has been an officer for Model UN and a member of the Lobby Committee. Nick Alderete is a member of Academic Commission, Publicity and Lobby Committees. Lastly, Austin Kang is a member of Publicity Committee and is an AGS officer.

Vote for your student representatives for the upcoming academic year!

Please read everything on this page carefully. To cast your vote you must have the last eight digits of your Student ID as well as your birth date. After making your selection you will be redirected to a voter confirmation page. Please take a screenshot or print it out for your records.

It is a violation of Associated Students of Pasadena City College policy, Pasadena City College policy, and state law to attempt to vote more than once or to vote using any other person’s access codes. Academic Improvement Scholarship

Have you been improving academically? Here’s a scholarship opportunity for you.

The Academic Commission is willing to honor those who have gone above and beyond in improving their grades. This scholarship is for those who have displayed marked academic improvements during their stay at PCC. This Academic Commission will be giving out five $500 scholarships to those who have displayed remarkable academic improvement.

Applications are available at the Office of Student Affairs – Campus Center 105 (CC105). The deadline for applications is on the 12th of April.

Lancerpoint Mock Registration

Join us in trying out this new registration system. We need as much student feedback that we can get. And there’s a plus.. some free food and some tablet.

Lancerpoint is the new version of our online database we refer to as “Lancerlink.” PCC has been working to keep our online hub (which includes registrations, transcripts, etc. ) up to date and we need your help to try this new system out.

There will be a “mock registration” for Lancerpoint next week on the following dates and times:

March 26 - Tuesday -11:00 am – 1:00 pm

March 27 - Wednesday -11:00 am – 1:00 pm

March 28 - Thursday -11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Venue: Office of the Student Affairs – CC105 – Inside the office that you see when you are in the ICC meetings at the wifi lounge.

This project is really vital as your opinions or feedback are pretty much appreciated. I encourage you all to participate and relay the news to your club mates.

1. The event will not consume the entire two hours. You will sign in and navigate around Lancerpoint, fill up a questionnaire/survey form, get your FREE PIZZA, and you’re done. Come in and join us when you can!

2. There will be vegan options for the pizza.

3. You may win a special prize with the raffle ticket you are going to get when you participate. A tablet!

4. If you are in a club, you are eligible for service hours. So go get the word out to your club mates ASAP. Participating grants you an hour. (We all know that when club hour due dates are getting closer, every hour counts.)

ASPCC 72-Hour Film Scholarship

Have you ever wanted to create your own film? Well now is your chance! The ASPCC Finance Committee is hosting a 72-Hour Film Festival Scholarship.

This scholarship will be an opportunity for any enrolled students to come together and create their own 5 minute film in 72 hours.

All expenses will be paid! Finance Committee pays for the equipment- you make the film!
