Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance program is here to help PCC students if a financial crisis crops up which threatens your ability to stay in college.
Dreamkeepers is a project of Scholarship America, and is meant to help out in times of unforeseen financial emergencies, which can happen at any time. Dreamkeepers will cover certain eligible expenses, such as utilities, rent, medical and dental costs, or automobile expenses. It’s a one-time deal, and you can’t use the money for books- or tuition-related expenses. But if you find yourself in financial hardship you couldn’t have foreseen, and it means you may seriously need to drop out of college in order to take care of it, then Dreamkeepers might be able to help.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
- Have a minimum of 24 units completed
- Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or higher
- Have a verifiable street and e-mail address
- Be facing a verifiable,unforeseen financial emergency
If you do not meet one or more of the eligibility requirements above, you should contact Dr. Scott Thayer in the Office of Student Affairs (626-585-7798) to discuss your situation.
